Lasso Vs. Sheryl: Who Made The Best Breakup Song?

He is a recognized pop rock singer; she is a child idol who turned into an international actress. Together they made the perfect couple.

But there are some problems in all the relationships, and when the fire of love was extinguished, these two decided to make everything public, With a series of tweets and videos on social networks. Andres Vicente Lazo Uslar, better known as Lasso, is a 31 years old singer and actor from Venezuela. He released his first solo single ‘No pares de Bailar’ in 2011. His indie rock style along his ruffled hair gave him a trademark and made thousands of fans fall in love with him.

 

That same year, Lasso released his debut album ‘Sin Otro Sentido’ which included the song ‘Quiero Que Vuelvas’ featuring Sheryl Rubio, a romantic ballad with simple but very polished and charming production. That would be the moment when the before mentioned relationship would begin.

Sheryl Rubio has been under the spotlight since she was a child actor. The Venezuelan actress and singer started her career with small roles on soupe operas. It was in 2007 when she debuted as the main character in the hit series ‘Somos Tu Y Yo’ a teen soupe opera full of music and choreographies.

 

After several years, Sheryl decided to give a twist to her career, she became a Youtuber and she also had a role in Netflix’s drama ‘La Casa De Las Flores’.

In 2017, Lasso dedicated his single ‘Eres Diferente’ to Sheryl. A fun pop song that was promoted with a bunch of social media videos of the couple making pranks to each other. Everything seemed perfect between this couple of teen idols. But at the end of 2018 they announced their breakup through several scandalous tweets.

 

 

The Venezuelan public knew that such a scandal was just a way to promote their careers, as the rising pop star Corina Smith had already done. And a few months after the breakup, Lasso published a photo with his head shaved, a radical makeover for the singer so well known for his messy hair.

Then Lasso's breakup song came. ‘Un millón como tú’ featuring Camila Gallardo, a power ballad with touching lyrics, the song is clearly full of emotions and great vocals like the classic Hispanic heartbreaking songs.

 

A few days after Lasso’s release, Sheryl announced a new tattoo. She got the word ‘Terminamos’ or ‘we broke up’ in one of her fingers, which would be the title of her new song. It was an unapologetic tropical dance song. The lyrics were all about how the relationship seems to be dead since a very long time, the rhythm was chilled and seductive, ideal for a night out with your friends in the discotheque.
