Daddy Yankee

Puerto Rican singer Daddy Yankee has announced his retirement from music with a series of concerts called "La Meta" at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot from November 30 to December 3 of this year.

Daddy Yankee, also known as "Jefe del Reguetón" and "The Big Boss," announced in March 2022 that he would retire from music and had planned to perform his last three concerts in Puerto Rico in January, but they were postponed. "Puerto Rico, we are now ready to say goodbye to my musical career as it deserves. This will be my greatest achievement, being with my people and with all those who will visit my beautiful island for my retirement," Daddy Yankee said on his Instagram account. The pre-sale of tickets will begin this Wednesday only for those who purchased tickets for the Estadio Hiram Bithorn shows, according to the artist. "For me, it is gratifying to know that I am saying goodbye to the stages where I was born, where I live, in Puerto Rico. PR. And we are going to celebrate this with Reggaeton. See you at the Choliseo to all enjoy 'La Meta'," Daddy Yankee concluded. Last week, his song "Gasolina," a true anthem of this musical genre, was included in the sound registry that the Library of Congress of the United States, the largest in the world, keeps for posterity. Daddy Yankee's most recent album, "Legendaddy," which surpassed 600 million streams in less than a month, features 19 songs and collaborations with artists such as Bad Bunny, Rauw Alejandro, Pitbull, Natti Natasha, and Becky G.
