After decades of concerts and tours, one might expect a sense of boredom or weariness among the members of the iconic band Kiss. However, far from that, the Americans have shown a great desire to have fun and be mischievous during their time in Spain. With their latest and only concert in Spain, Kiss took center stage on the second day of the Rock Imperium festival's second edition, which started last Friday and concluded on Sunday. The influential American band, one of the greatest rock bands of all time, programmed this unique date in Spain, putting the II Rock Imperium Fest and Cartagena on the global map. Kiss' farewell tour, End of the Road, has been touring the world for three years. They have marked December 2nd for their final concert in New York. But before that, they visited Cartagena to bid farewell to their loyal Spanish audience. Along the way, the band and its members, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer, and Eric Singer, have left all kinds of images that have gone viral on Twitter. The first of them may be the one of them riding on a bus from the Spanish company ALSA, strolling through the streets of Cartagena, to the amazement of passersby, as they were dressed in their traditional black and white costumes and makeup. Another, no less surreal, is the one of Gene Simmons improvising a version of "La Macarena," singing "Cartagena," for a video by the local government. The musician sings the Spanish classic and then unabashedly says, "I hate that song." A recent video shows Simmons himself driving a small service vehicle in a parking lot just before entering the stage through a small door. "What can I say. Judge a man by the four wheels he drives," he says in the video. Kiss seemed delighted to perform in Cartagena, as they shared a video from the stage. "Cartagena, Spain's Rock Emperium last night. What a night," Simmons wrote on Twitter. Kiss burst onto the music scene in 1973 and have since become part of music history with hits like "I Was Made for Lovin' You," "Rock and Roll All Nite," and "Detroit Rock City."
