The cinematographer noted that she was able to work with the singer for only two weeks and left the team working on the documentary project about Lizzo due to her "arrogant, egocentric, and unfriendly" behavior. Sofia Nali Allison added that the rapper creates an extremely toxic and hostile work environment and undermines the work, efforts, and authority of dark-skinned women. "Note that in the end, a white cisgender man became the director of her film," said the cinematographer, emphasizing that Lizzo's brand is built on lies. Earlier, Lizzo was sued for discrimination and sexual harassment. Three dancers from the artist's collective accused her of creating a hostile work environment. According to them, the rapper insulted her subordinates because of weight gain and also discriminated against them based on racial and religious characteristics. Later, the star's former creative director, Quinn Whitney Wilson, confirmed that she had been treated similarly.
