Kesovia was born in Kanalia, near Dubrovnik, where she grew up. In his youth, he won a federal song contest in Ljubljana. He graduated from the Music Academy in Zagreb, majoring in flute. In 1962 he won the music competition in Saint-Vincent, Italy. Since then, he has won awards at almost all music festivals in the former Yugoslavia, as well as awards at international festivals in Rio de Janeiro, Bratislava, Bern and Sopot. In 1966 he represented Monaco at the Eurovision Song Contest, and in 1972 he participated in the same competition on behalf of Yugoslavia. Her career in France began in 1965, but gained great popularity in 1967 when she performed Lara's Song in the film Dr. Zhivago. He returned to Zagreb in the early 1970s. Kesova is the only Croatian singer to sing several times at the Olympia Hall in Paris.
