But it's not the only new Latin sound that will keep us dancing until this summer! Spanish singer Álvaro Soler makes his comeback with his song "Magia" available today! The artist became known with his hits "El Mismo Sol", "Sofia" or his feat with TINI and FloRida "La Cintura" in 2018. Melty's editor was able to meet him and ask him lots of questions about this brand new album and his dream collaboration (and you will never guess who it is!).

Hello Alvaro! How are you ?

Álvaro Soler, singer: I'm doing great, today is a great day, my new song has just been released, the sun is shining in Berlin - which doesn't happen often… (laughs) So everything is fine!

You're back with a new song “Magia” , can you tell us more?

Álvaro Soler: I wrote “Magia” a long time ago and I can finally share it with my fans. It's a song that talks about the moments or things that we experience and that we describe as magical moments. I have a feeling that we don't have enough words to describe this kind of situation and that's why we use the word “magic” as a word to describe this indescribable situation. All these little things that we experienced during confinement gave me a feeling of appreciation for all these moments of happiness like the sun that comes after the clouds ... That's the magic for me!

You said on social media that you wrote about 30 songs during lockdown and you must have picked only 13 for the album. How did that happen ?

Álvaro Soler: There was a battle between the last three songs and it was difficult. But you know, if they don't come out in this album, they will come out in the next one, so that's okay… (laughs)

Will the composition of this next album be different from the previous ones?

Álvaro Soler: I think every album is the same and at the same time every album is different. Because it's different but it's still me. This year I was able to experiment with something else, to buy new instruments from different countries like Colombia or Venezuela and that's why I have the impression that this album will be different, compared to the way I have it. wrote. But of course there will always be my identity in it!

Will there be any new collaborations on the album?

Álvaro Soler: I can't tell you anything yet! All I can say is that there is a very famous Spanish artist… (laughs)

You have worked with many artists, like TINI, FloRida and even Jennifer Lopez. What was your favorite collaboration?

Álvaro Soler: That's a good question! I think my favorite is the one with JLo because it was such a crazy moment. I only had one song that worked at the time and it came along and everything changed. She is a real hard worker! I remember we never finished shooting the music video in New York! We had to do one last scene with a great light but it broke and we couldn't continue. JLo's manager came over and said to me: “Alvaro, we're not going to be able to shoot the video ...” So I waited for a week in New York if ever Jennifer Lopez had time but it didn't. has never happened… (laughs) So I went back to Europe!
