A moving ballad that moves the French. Don't stay awake for too long, don't go to bed . Remember: just over a year ago, the whole world discovered Powfu.
At only 21 years old, the Canadian singer enjoyed immense success with "Death Bed (Coffee For Your Head)". Sample on a beabadoobee track, his ballad between lo-fi and hip-hop has turned into a standard containment hit, following his success on the TikTok application. Certified platinum in our count, the single has now accumulated more than 930 million streams on Spotify while its nostalgic clip exceeds 326 million views on YouTube. Since then, the artist has followed with the excellent EP "Poems of the Past" as well as many singles like "I'm Used to It" or "I'll Come Back To You"
But Powfu is indeed signing a new hit with a song dating from ... 2019! From the EP "Letters You Never Received", the ballad "Break Ups Suck Ass", in collaboration with Sadeyes, has been in the top 10 of the most popular songs on iTunes France for a few days, alongside the hits of The Weeknd , Lil Nas X, Vianney or Bruno Mars . A rather unexpected success given that the title is not, for the moment, used in any series, nor has it achieved viral success on TikTok. France is also the only country where the title is currently classified.

So it would seem "Break Ups Suck Ass" is moving the French public. Indeed, on this excellent track as delicate as it is touching, Powfu sings how the separation from his parents had an impact on his romantic relationships. On the chorus, he assures us that he is not the same as his parents and that he will continue to love his half, despite the crises crossed: Love gets hard to give but I'm not sick of it / Life's too short to stay in pointless arguments / I am not the same, I'll keep you in my grasp / Please don't be afraid 'cause soon this storm will pass /' Cause soon this storm will pass . For the moment, the title has accumulated more than 8 million streams on Spotify.
