The 50-year-old star ultimately died at White Plains Hospital in New York City, after being on life support for days. But, he is not the only celebrity to die in this tragic situation, on the contrary. Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston and Elvis Presley have also been taken away by drugs.

The singer of "I can't help falling in love" was found unconscious by his girlfriend Ginger Alden on the bathroom floor of his house. He was later pronounced dead in hospital. The cause of his death was an overdose of prescription drugs, including codeine, valium, morphine, and demerol.

Other celebrities have also died in almost similar circumstances, such as the American model and singer actress Marilyn Monroe, in August 1962, at her home in Brentwood. Canadian actor Corey Monteith also died at the age of 31 from a deadly cocktail of heroin and alcohol on July 13, 2013.

In February 2010, British fashion designer Alexander McQueen committed suicide after ingesting a cocktail of prescription drugs and cocaine and hanging himself. Alexander was battling depression after the death of his mother, which caused him to get out of control, causing him to take several medications.
