Bad Bunny Faces Lawsuit From Ex-girlfriend Amid Rumors Of New Romance

Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny is being sued by his ex-girlfriend, Carliz De La Cruz Hernandez, for using her voice without consent in his songs "Pa Ti" and "Dos mil 16." The lawsuit comes amid rumors of Bad Bunny's new romance with model Kendall Jenner.

According to Page Six, De La Cruz claims that the famous phrase "Bad Bunny, baby," which is used in the rapper's songs, was used to generate profits without her consent. She alleges that Bad Bunny's representatives offered her $2,000 to buy the audio rights, but she refused. Despite this, the rapper used the recording without her permission, and now his former lover is seeking compensation of at least $40 million. The track "Pa Ti" has over 355 million views on YouTube and more than 235 million streams on Spotify, while "Dos Mil 16" has over 60 million views on YouTube and 280 million streams on Spotify. In 2022, Bad Bunny was named Artist of the Year at the Apple Music Awards. His sixth album, "Un Verano Sin Ti," released in May of last year, became the most popular release of the year on the Apple Music platform. Additionally, it was recognized as the most popular Latin American album of all time.
