Rapper 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was locked in a room for safety after being assaulted in a gym, according to TMZ.

Employees at the gym where rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was assaulted have locked him in a room for safety reasons, according to TMZ. The rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was attacked in a fitness center, and staff members rushed to his aid before locking him in a secure room. The gym was a place where Hernandez had previously worked out without any issues, and most interactions with others were peaceful, TMZ reported. The suspects in the assault were caught on video. One man was already inside the gym and talking on his mobile phone. He then let another man in and they both headed to the gym's sauna and bathroom. A third man later joined them. Hernandez was assaulted on March 22 in a Florida gym. According to his lawyer, a group of unknown assailants dragged him out of the sauna and began beating him. He was hospitalized with injuries to his jaw, ribs, and back. The reasons for the attack are unknown.
