Barbadian singer Rihanna has been chosen to voice the character of Smurfette in the new animated film about the Smurfs. The singer will also record the soundtrack for the movie, which is set to be released on February 14, 2025, and will be directed by Chris Miller and Matt Landon. The news was reported by "Zvuk Media" citing IndieWire's publication. Rihanna has revealed that she was involved in the creation of the film during her pregnancy and hopes that voicing Smurfette will make her look "cool" in the eyes of her children. "Being a part of creating an animated film was a fun adventure for me... I had to use my imagination, show up in my pajamas in the third trimester, and become a blue rebel," the singer shared. Earlier this year, it was reported that the American film studio DreamWorks Animation had started working on the fifth part of the animated film "Shrek". The new animated film about the Smurfs promises to be a fun and exciting adventure for the whole family.
