Last week, several allegations of sexual abuse by Lindemann surfaced on social media. Known for his provocative behavior, Lindemann has faced similar accusations in the past. One young Irish woman, Shelby Lynn, claimed to have been drugged after attending Rammstein's concert in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius a week ago. She and other girls were invited to a party with the band members, where they were served copious amounts of alcohol. Lynn described how Lindemann allegedly became angry after she refused to have sex with him. She then began to feel ill and experience hallucinations. The next day, she woke up confused, with no memory of what had happened, and covered in bruises. She believed that the drinks she was given contained drugs of some kind. Many other women came forward with similar stories of how a casting director for the band allegedly recruits attractive young women under false pretenses to participate in parties where they are then expected to have sex with Lindemann. "With regard to the allegations circulating on the internet about Vilnius, we can rule out the possibility that what is being claimed took place in our environment," the band stated on their Twitter account on Sunday night. "We are not aware of any official investigations into this matter." Lindemann, who is 60 years old, was previously embroiled in controversy in Germany in 2020 after publishing a poem in which he fantasized about raping an unconscious woman whom he had previously drugged with a tranquilizer in a glass of wine.
