On June 23, the head of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, claimed that Russian military forces had attacked the group's rear camps. He threatened to use force and destroy anyone who would hinder the path of the Wagner Group fighters, who had taken over the headquarters of the Southern Military District in Rostov-on-Don and were moving towards Moscow.
