Malmö has been selected as the host city for Eurovision 2024. Loreen's victory in the previous contest has raised some eyebrows. Find out more about the controversy and the upcoming event in this article.
The city for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in 2024 has been announced. Malmö, located in the southern part of Sweden, will be hosting the event on May 7, 9, and 11. This will be the third time that Malmö has been chosen as the host city for Eurovision. Several Swedish cities had expressed interest in hosting the competition, but Malmö emerged as the final choice. Executive producer of Eurovision 2024, Abby Adilsson, mentioned that since the contest in 2013, Malmö has developed more modern venues for events like this. The winner of the previous Eurovision Song Contest in 2023 was Loreen, a Swedish singer. She received a total of 583 points from both the audience and the jury. However, her victory sparked controversy as some believed it was intentionally planned to coincide with the anniversary of ABBA's victory in the contest back in 1974.
