Hip-hop artist Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, has spoken out for the first time since being attacked in a gym in South Florida earlier this month. He criticized the three men who attacked him, calling them cowards. The attackers pulled him out of a sauna, knocked him to the ground, and beat him with their fists and feet, resulting in injuries to his jaw, ribs, and back. “For two years, I walked around without security. I’m not saying that I promote that, but now you see that I really never hid from anything,” Hernandez wrote on social media. Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack, but the motive for the assault is still unclear. Hernandez had previously walked around without security, but now says he will have to reconsider this decision. 6ix9ine is no stranger to controversy. The rapper has a criminal record that includes a guilty plea to the use of a child in a sexual performance, for which he was sentenced to four years probation. He has also been involved in feuds with other rappers, including Chief Keef and YG. Despite his legal troubles, 6ix9ine has found success in the music industry, with his debut album, “Dummy Boy,” reaching number two on the US Billboard 200 chart in 2018. It remains to be seen how the attack will affect his career, but for now, 6ix9ine is focused on his recovery and making sure he is safe.
