Shakira has been having a busy time lately, traveling from Miami to Barcelona and then to Cartagena, Colombia to be with her father, William Mebarak, who underwent surgery for hydrocephalus. The singer returned to Barcelona to leave her kids, Milan and Sasha, with their father, ex-footballer Gerard Piqué, for the holidays. While in Barcelona, she attended the F1 Grand Prix in Spain and was seen with race car driver Lewis Hamilton, sparking rumors of a possible romance. Since moving to Miami, Shakira has been seen enjoying time with her children, friends, and colleagues, and even surfing. She is now back in her home country, where she recently dedicated her latest song "Acróstico" to her parents on social media, sharing a video of them with the song playing in the background. William Mebarak, Shakira's father, has been hospitalized twice in 2022 at the age of 91. He suffered a fall at home that took several weeks to recover from. According to Colombian newspaper El Tiempo, he underwent surgery at Hospital Serena del Mar in Cartagena de Indias, where he received the Hakim valve to help with his hydrocephalus. The surgery was performed by renowned neurosurgeon Fernando Hakim, the creator of the valve. Shakira recently traveled to Colombia with her children in what was likely a last-minute trip to be with her father before his surgery. The medical center has taken all necessary measures to protect William's privacy, including a possible confidentiality agreement with Shakira's family.
