Colombian singer Shakira has managed to avoid a three-year prison sentence for tax fraud in Spain. According to Reuters, the artist reached a deal with the investigation, admitting her guilt and agreeing to pay 50% of the outstanding amount, which totals 7.3 million euros. Shakira had been accused of evading taxes while residing in Spain from 2012 to 2014, with a debt of 14.5 million euros.

In addition to the payment, she was also fined 438,000 euros. In July, a Spanish court opened a new case against Shakira for tax evasion, almost ten months after she was ordered to appear in court for evading taxes worth 13.9 million dollars. The singer, who denies any wrongdoing, is now facing legal action from her ex-boyfriend, American singer and actor Justin Timberlake.

It seems that tax fraud cases are not uncommon among celebrities, with many facing legal consequences for their actions. However, Shakira's ability to negotiate a deal and avoid prison time showcases the power and influence that some artists possess.
